Earl Grey

Status: ADOPTABLE again soon! (being treated for ear infection)
Sex: Male
Age: Under a year (Born in June 2018)
Eyes: Emerald green
Coat: Long haired gray tabby
Breed: Domestic Long Hair (aka cat mutt)
Special Needs: None

Earl is a snuggle-bug. Earl is one of our bottle-babies that we got back in July! Since he is hand-raised, he couldn’t be friendlier with everyone. He absolutely loves people more than anything else. He has a passion for snuggling and comes to you for pets if he sees you looking at him. He is bonded with his brother Coffee Bean and we’d prefer they get adopted together but he would be okay on his own as well. He gets along well with all cats and actually has also done well with the dogs we’ve tested him with as well! He doesn’t mind being picked up and is extremely easily handled.

Status: ADOPTABLE!!!
Sex: Male
Age: Under a year (Born in June 2018)
Eyes: Green
Coat: Short haired smokey tabby
Breed: Domestic Short Hair (aka cat mutt)
Special Needs: None

Bean is a CHARACTER. He absolutely loves being pet and chatting with humans. If you say hi to him, he’ll probably say hi back with an adorable meow. Bean, like Earl, is also one of our bottle-babies! They’re well-bonded brothers who often play together. We’d prefer Bean and Earl get adopted together but he would be okay on his own as well. He gets along well with all cats and has also done well with the dogs we’ve tested him with as well! He doesn’t mind being picked up and is extremely easily handled.

Thunderbolt aka “Thundey”

Status: ADOPTABLE!!!
Sex: Female
Age: Under a year
Eyes: Yellow
Coat: Tortoiseshell
Breed: Domestic Short Hair (aka cat mutt)
Special Needs: None

Thunderbolt is shy at first but once she gets to know people she becomes quite friendly! She loves to play and even knows how to run on a cat wheel! She has a hilarious habit of talking to herself while playing and will even do it while holding a toy in her mouth. She plays well with other cats and is extremely talented at making ridiculous faces with her intense eyes and markings that highlight her cute smile. Thunderbolt has two sisters we are still working with to improve their temperaments (they are currently very shy and don’t do well being handled). She usually doesn’t like being picked up but is decent enough at being handled that it shouldn’t be a problem for the vet’s office. Her sisters are Jane and Spitfire. We call them the Fighter Plane family as they like to rocket around the house like little fighter planes and two of their names are also names of Fighter Planes.

Zorak & Trouble

Status: ADOPTABLE!!!
Sex: Zorak- Male | Trouble- Female
Age: Zorak- 5 | Trouble- 2
Eyes: Zorak- Blue | Trouble- Blue
Coat: Zorak- Short haired seal lynx point | Trouble- Short haired snowshoe
Breeds: Zorak- Ragdoll mix | Trouble- Siamese mix
Special Needs: Zorak- Pica (will obsessively suck on small parts of stuffed animals) | Trouble- None

Zorak and Trouble must be adopted together. They love each other too much for us to let them be seperated!

Zorak is an enormous ragdoll who is very friendly and loves to be pet. He has an adorable musical meow and will sometimes respond to you if you talk to him. He is serious about playing and will go nuts for a laser, feather toy, or a battery powered toy. He loves people but will sometimes be shy around new ones at first. He also loves laying in sunbeams, caring for kittens, and CATNIP. Zorak gets along well with most all cats and even does well around dogs. Zorak has a beautiful cinnamon roll shaped marking on his side, a distinctive tabby “w” marking on his forehead, and stunning silvery blue eyes. His eyes are slightly crossed which just kind of gives him an extra cute expression. Because of his Pica, if you have stuffed animals in your house, you will have to keep them away from him if you don’t want them to get damaged, otherwise he is a perfectly normal cat. Zorak is also Space Ghost’s brother, a lifetime resident of Rocket Cat!

Trouble is quite shy at first but when you get to know her, she absolutely loves pets and attention. In contrast to Zorak, she is a small cat. She really needs someone that can give her lots of individual attention and love. When she gets upset she will rely Zorak for support. She doesn’t like most other cats but absolutely loves Zorak and can often be seen snuggling him. She has an adorable tiny squeaky meow and will sometimes respond when you talk to her too!  She also has a habit of secretly begging at inanimate objects like soft things, prosciutto, and occasionally a toy she cannot get to. Trouble has beautiful seal pointed siamese markings mixed with white and an extremely soft coat. She also has stunning sky blue eyes which she loves to STARE at people with. Trouble is related to multiple cats here at Rocket Cat: she is Nux’s litter sister as well as Pixel & Bianca’s younger (step?) sister! We call them the Potato family because they are good at becoming small potato colored potato shapes.

Both of them enjoy their bellies being rubbed, unlike most cats, and aren’t really picky about where you pet them. We love them both very much and would like them to go to a house with experienced cat owners. Neither of them mind being picked up much and are easily handled.

Future Adoptables:

Plane Jane “Doe Eyes” aka Jane

Status: Being worked with for future adoption!
Sex: Female
Age: Under a year
Eyes: Yellow
Coat: Short Haired Torbie (Tortoiseshell x Brown Tabby)
Breed: Domestic Short Hair (aka cat mutt)
Special Needs: None

Jane is very shy at first but absolutely loves being around people and watching them. She is wary of pets but she is slowly coming around to them. She is absolutely obsessed with food and treats. She has an obsession with shoes and will play with them. Like her sister, Thunderbolt, she also knows how to use a cat wheel! She loves cat toys and play in general whether it be with humans or cats. She has an extremely soft coat which at first appears to be brown tabby but on closer inspection you will notice her beautiful patches of orange all over! She has adorable doughy round yellow eyes and an extremely sweet face. Her sisters are Thunderbolt and Spitfire. We call them the Fighter Plane family as they like to rocket around the house like little fighter planes and two of their names are also names of Fighter Planes. We are currently still working with her because she HATES being handled. So much so that we originally thought she might be too feral for adoption. If she never comes around to being handled she may end up becoming and extremely friendly barn cat or go to someone who is okay with owning a cat that won’t let you ever pick her up.

Spitfire aka “Spitty”

Status: Being worked with for future adoption!
Sex: Female
Age: Under a year
Eyes: Yellow
Coat: Short Haired Tortoiseshell
Breed: Domestic Short Hair (aka cat mutt)
Special Needs: None

Spitfire has stunning markings and is very petite. She almost looks like she was designed by someone with her orange forelimbs, cute little white paws, white chest, white tipped tail, and beautiful facial mask markings. She is very shy and is wary of pets at first but when given, she does enjoy them! She runs away if she thinks you are going to pick her up though. She is slowly coming around to being around humans and is very curious of them! She absolutely loves other cats though and enjoys playing with them. She doesn’t like being handled but is generally better than her sisters at it… that is, if you can catch her! She is VERY fast and hisses (which is how she got the name Spitfire) but won’t bite or scratch you. She has very round eyes and is good at making hilarious “shocked” faces. Her sisters are Thunderbolt and Jane. We call them the Fighter Plane family as they like to rocket around the house like little fighter planes and two of their names are also names of Fighter Planes.

Adoptions Pending:

Keanu

Status: Adoption Pending!!!
Sex: Male
Age: 3
Eyes: Green
Coat: Short Haired Brown & White Tabby
Breed: Domestic Short Hair (aka cat mutt)
Special Needs: None

Keanu is extremely good with all cats. He is patient and great at communicating with a variety of cats. He is a great mediator between cats and has settled arguments that have happened between cats. He is extremely friendly with cats, humans, and even dogs! He loves to play and be pet, and snuggled. He will snuggle with you in bed forever and is good at keeping you from getting up. Keanu has a very loud purr, cute meow, and makes silly chirring noises on a normal basis. He is very intelligent and knows how to open doors, play fetch, and could probably learn some tricks! He is a king at making muffins (kneading), pro at slow blinking, great at babysitting kittens, and bringing the friendly side out of shy cats. Keanu is Rory and Shenzi’s brother and we call them the Snuggle family. Keanu is a very chill dude and has a permanent squint.  He is going to be adopted by fellow Rocket Cat Human, Mandy, so that he can stay in the RCR family and come back to visit if he is needed for help, but will also get more of the individual human love and attention he so craves!

Ann Purrkins

Status: Adoption Pending!!!
Sex: Female
Age: Around 1 year
Eyes: Pale Green
Coat: Long Haired Brown Tabby
Possible Breed: Maine Coon x Munchkin
Special Needs: Permanent head tilt (neurological) & good at tracking poopies around the house with her magical wavy butt fur

Ann came to us straight from the streets; she was supposed to be caught, spayed, and released (CNR) but instead of being a feral cat as expected, she decided to show us that she was a gem that needed to be adopted to a good home instead! After being caught in a trap by Venus and Paula, she got out of the trap in the car, walked right up to Paula and immediately started acting extremely friendly. She was so friendly, we were convinced she must be someone’s pet! She hadn’t been spayed though and no one had reported her missing. So, after failing to find any owners for her, we realized she was just oddly friendly despite never living in a home. We have since found her brother and mom helped assess them for adoption and friendliness to humans seems to run in the Purrkins family.

She loves pets, being carried around, snuggling, playing fetch, and being around humans. When she came to us she didn’t know how to play with toys, how to interact with other cats, or how to eat with other cats. She has learned so much since we first got her and now even snuggles with other cats! (She used to hiss at any cat that got near her.) She learned how to play from Grey and Bean, how to play fetch from Keanu, how to snuggle from Rory, and how to talk to toys from Thunderbolt.

She has short thick legs and a very short tail which are traits common among munchkin mixes but otherwise she displays all the traits of being a maine coon mix with her long soft fur, big chin, and laid back personality. She has a bald patch of fur near her mouth which was determined by vets to possibly just be a scar and her permanent head tilt is most likely neurological. We love her too much, so she is going to be adopted by fellow Rocket Cat Human, Mandy, so that she can stay in the RCR family to become an ambassador for Friendlies as well as meet people at events!

Why is she named “Ann Purrkins”? Ann Purrkins had just become a recent intake to Rocket Cat, and Mandy was visiting so the they were both staying in the same room. Mandy suddenly became very ill, and had to be rushed to the emergency room. After returning, Ann attached herself to Mandy and helped nurse Mandy back to health with cuddles, loud purrs, kneading, and SO MUCH LOVE. Mandy named her “Ann Purrkins” after the character Ann Perkins from Parks and Rec (who is a nurse) and her penchant for loud purring.
